Mirpur Royals were crowned the ‘Yorkshire Hundred’ champions for 2026, following a fantastic finals day held at Scarborough Cricket Club.
Delivered through the ECB Cricket Cities project, the Hundred has provided an important opportunity to engage community groups, encourage more people to play cricket and bring together participants from different cities, backgrounds and communities through a shared love of the game.
The event saw the winners of the Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield and Kirklees competitions come together to compete for the Yorkshire title, rounding off another successful year of the Cricket Cities competition.
Representing Bradford, Mirpur Royals came out on top to be crowned champions after beating Lahore Badshah representing Kirklees in the final, following a brilliant day of competitive and enjoyable cricket.
Played in coloured kits and with white balls, the Yorkshire Hundred provides an exciting format designed to create more opportunities for people to get involved in the game and enjoy cricket within their communities. This year’s project has had a fantastic reach, involving 40 teams and more than 600 people across the different area competitions.
The finals day was a fitting way to bring this year’s competition to a close, celebrating not only the performances on the pitch but also the people and communities who have made the project such a success.
Congratulations to Mirpur Royals on being crowned champions, and thank you to everyone who took part and helped make this year’s ‘Yorkshire Hundred’ another fantastic competition.
